Gerry Fisher, Senior Developer

Gerry's first exposure to the wind industry came in Denmark in the 80's when he was on an expatriate assignment. It planted a seed that was to eventually become Dakota Wind Energy, an NRS-managed project in northeast South Dakota, home to the family ranch and renowned wind regimes on the Couteau des Prairies. DWE is one of the most ambitious community-owned wind farm developments in the US.

He is no stranger to large, complex, multidisciplinary projects like DWE as his international legal specialty took him to over fifty countries where he managed dozens of major corporate and commercial transactions for NCR Corporation and AT&T. Later he would found Alebra Technologies, a two-time recipient of the Deloitte Fast 500 award, before launching DWE with National Wind.

He was educated at Augustana College, the Johns Hopkins SAIS, and the University of Denver College of Law, and lives in North Oaks, MN, with his wife, Rebecca. He loves family dinners, Colorado skiing, and Ely docksitting when not reading Cold War thrillers.

Paul Reeves, Project Developer

Paul Reeves’ resume in renewable and alternative energy production began more than 25 years ago subsequent to attending the University of Massachusetts, where he was a Ford Foundation Scholar, APPAM Scholar, and Class Speaker. Mr. Reeves also attended the Averill Harriman School of Public Policy and Management at Stony Brook and Dartmouth University’ s Amos Tuck School of Business. A period of growth with One World Energy allowed Mr. Reeves to further refine his talents and gain extensive experience in educating rural communities about the role that wind energy can play in stimulating rural economic development from both a policy and development perspective.

Mr. Reeves took his talents to the nation’s capital in the Department of Energy serving as a Consultant in the Wind Powering America Program. In this role he was better able to work with and educate the constituency that he has a true passion for; small disadvantaged farmers and renewable energy utilization by urban and rural communities of color. Mr. Reeves then founded his second energy company, Upepo Energy Group. As director of the Upepo Energy Group, he pioneered efforts to educate inner city residents about the health benefits associated with renewable energy usage and generate ownership models for low income communities of color that would create a hedge against price volatility of conventional electricity.

When he is not preaching the gospel of community wind to rural communities, Mr. Reeves likes to sail, is an avid reader of Walter Moseley, plays basketball, walks on the beach, feed members of his church community thru the SHARE program and watch Horror movies. He also has a fondness for big dogs and Sushi.
